In addition to being the Owner, Outfitter and Head Guide of Sweetwater Outfitters, I am also a Wyoming Native and Bush Pilot. My in depth knowledge of Wyoming is your key to an enjoyable hunt. I extensively scout my areas throughout the year conducting my own Aerial winter and spring game surveys. The extra effort this entails enables me to select only the finest areas for my client's, giving them the best possible chance for success. This method is in sharp contrast to Outfitters who only scout their areas a few days before their client's arrival if at all, pressuring the same area year after year disregarding the health and population of their game herds.
Much of our hunting is conducted on private property. However, we do hunt on government owned land when necessary. We have Federal and State permits giving us access and authority to operate in numerous areas. This flexibility greatly enhances our operations capabilities allowing us additional options should we need them due to unusual weather conditions, snowfall, drought, fires etc.
On all of the hunts we offer you will be accompanied by a top notch guide. The guides that represent Sweetwater Outfitters are hardy, friendly, licensed professionals and WSBOPG certified. I personally do as much of the guiding as possible throughout the season. We have a straight forward no nonsense approach to guiding. You will appreciate your guides skills when it comes time for evaluating game animals, planning stalks and judging distances.
We offer Town and Camp hunts depending on your preference. You will be hunting the same areas regardless of which you choose. Camp hunts are booked tentatively. Our camp hunts consist of either bunkhouse/cabin arrangements or heated wall tents depending on the hunt area you draw. We have just refreshed our gear inventory with new wall tents, stoves etc. On our Camp hunts we furnish everything for you except your rifle, shells and personal gear. Emergency communication is available via Sweetwater's cell phones. On our Town hunts we will make your reservations at one of the fine motels in Casper. By choosing the Town option the hunter/client will be responsible for all costs pertaining to lodging and meals, we provide lunches & beverages during the hunts. Airport pickup and dropoff is arranged through the motel and will accommodate when provided with flight numbers, client's name and time of arrival.
All hunting is Fair Chase! If you are looking for an enclosed Game Ranch or so called Canned Hunt we are not for you. The game animals we hunt are free ranging wildlife in their beautiful natural habitat for which Wyoming is famous. Fair Chase produces Quality Memories. Aerial Scouting is not conducted within the 24 hour time limitation as stipulated by Wyoming law. Game movements are dictated by various changes in weather and changing environmental conditions. We will do everything possible within the law to help you bag your game. When we put you onto the game the rest is up to you and your marksmanship. For these reasons we do not guarantee anything.
After you harvest your animals. Your Guide will field dress your game and transport it to one of the processing plants in Casper. We also know the who's who in taxidermy and can guide you to a reputable taxidermist.
I strongly suggest that anyone booking a trip with Sweetwater Outfitters bring with them a good quality camera with plenty of film or memory. This is not only for recording the game animals they take but also to photograph Wyomings spectacular scenery. This scenery includes many historical landmarks.
A large list of references will be provided upon request. Chances are it includes a client who lives near you. Many of our references have hunted world wide with many different outfitters. They will tell you we are #1 out west. They do our bragging for us.
